Why is Body Jet treatment unique and what does the WAL method imply?

‘Uniqueness of the Body Jet^® device is based on pioneering use of the innovative WAL (water-jet assisted liposuction) method in fatty tissue removal and body shaping. This method consists in draining the fatty tissue using a special water solution. During the treatment, the physician introduces a cannula with a thin, pulsating fan-shaped stream of water solution into the fatty tissue via a small incision. Water solution penetrates intercellular space and loosens up its structure without damaging fibrous structures such as connective tissue, nerves or blood vessels.’

At the same time a liquid is introduced, which combines with fat cells and is then sucked out and removed.

This stream is similar to a strong shower stream and that is why it causes no tissue ‘tearing’ effect. While performing infiltration, the physician moves gently the cannula, similarly to moving a bow, whereas the cannula penetrates the tissue easily and releases the adipocytes i.e. fat cells to be removed. Highly-advanced regional anesthesia system and no force used by the physician while performing his work, ensure safe and fully automatic course of treatment. The movement of the cannula is based on the ‘liquid leads, the cannula follows and penetrates ‘soft places’’ principle. Functional structures, such as nerves and blood vessels, are simply moved by the stream and therefore face no mechanical damages. After completing its task, the liquid introduced via the cannula, is sucked out and removed together with fat cells via the same cannula. Simultaneous administration and removal of the infiltration liquid is of a key importance for treatment safety and comfort. The introduced liquid does not accumulate in tissue, causes no oedema, and the stream causes no mechanical damages to tissue, no oedema or hematomas.

What does regional anesthesia system consist in?

Highly-advanced regional anesthesia system consists in introduction and fast removal of liquid, which on the one side increases patient’s safety and on the other side provides the physician with better conditions for precise body shaping. The liquid combined with anesthetic agents does not accumulate in the body and does not expose it excessively. Moreover, it causes no oedema in the treated area, which hinders the physician’s evaluation of the shaped body part. No or minor oedema are the greatest difference between this method and the other ones. Thanks to this, real body contour and shape of the treated body part is perfectly visible. This allows the physician to have full control and guarantees precision of the treatment. Since there is no oedema on the treated body part, it is easier for the attending physician to achieve the intended result. Therefore there is no necessity to perform subsequent, invasive for the patients corrective treatments, which is typical for the other methods.

Precision of the Body Jet treatment

‘Regional anesthesia and the fact that the patient is conscious during the treatment increase precision and safety of the treatment. When performing the Body Jet® treatment, the physician is in full contact with the patient and its body maintains natural defense responses. This additionally protects the patient against injuring organs placed below the fatty tissue. The appearance of the patient’s tissue depends on the body position. Ability of free movement, including standing position, enables the physician to conduct a detailed evaluation of both body contour and treatment effect’. Precise performance is also supported by unique properties of the WAL stream and extensive set of cannulas to remove fatty tissue at different penetration depths and of different resistance.

How much fat can I remove during a single treatment?

Treatment effectiveness in terms of both quantity and quality of removed fat is higher comparing with other methods. During a single treatment using the Body Jet® device it is possible to remove 5l of fat per 100 kg of body mass. The standards limit the device potential rather than patient’s safety. The amount of removed fat should not disturb physiological balance and natural processes of the organism. In case of patients with no or minor overweight (BMI < 28), liposuction of a maximum of six areas is performable. This means that upper and lower part of the abdomen, hips and waist may be shaped during a single treatment. The same refers to thighs, knees and calves.

How will I feel after the Body Jet treatment?

Previously unachievable results in terms of the amount of removed fat and the precision of body shaping are now possible thanks to less invasive liposuction. Body Jet® not only reduced the duration of the treatment itself comparing with standard liposuction but also eliminated post-treatment ailments and recovery period. Body Jet® treatment is performed under the walk-in-walk-out principle. The patients do not require hospitalization. Their general feeing in the course and after treatment is very good and they are able to go back home shortly after its completion.

What should I do after the treatment?

During the first few hours or days of the post-treatment period, the patient should wear sufficiently absorptive dressing and compression clothing, which prevent hematomas and oedema and additionally improve and facilitate tissues recovery. It does not disturb everyday activities, which can usually be done on the next day after the treatment. Post-treatment follow-up is performed on the next day, whereas the subsequent ones after two weeks and after three months. During the first follow-up visit all adhesive absorptive dressing is removed. There are usually only minor traces of the treatment left. Specialist compression clothing should be worn for the period between two and six weeks, depending on the follow-up results.

When will I fully recover?

The patients are usually able to work after one to maximum several days after the treatment on case-by-case basis. Physical activity is possible as fast as the patient feels no discomfort when exercising.

How should I prepare for the Body Jet® treatment?

The patient is being prepared for the treatment in a standard manner. Due to the fact that the Body Jet® treatment is basically performed with the use of regional anesthesia, the patients are allowed to eat and in particular drink to avoid excessive dehydration. Treatment preparation procedures cover laboratory tests, such as morphology and coagulability test, cardiac, respiratory and circulatory systems tests and elimination of contraindications. Periprocedural antibiotic treatment is also performed to maximize patient safety.

Is it possible to use the fat cells removed by Body Jet device for breast enhancement or wrinkle filling?

Thanks to its technological advancement, Body Jet® provides one more unique opportunity and advantage.
