Laser hair removal
We all know how troubling constant depilation (epilation) can be – we all dream of silky smooth skin. This is why we would like to invite you to use our laser hair removal service. We specialize in permanent laser depilation with world-class most effective and best IPL devices.
As one of pioneers we introduced this services in 1999 and currently we have 10-year experience in this field. Therefore we can guarantee best results of treatments using the most effective lasers and IPL devices available in the world.
We offer four types of laser devices, which we select according to the hair type and color and skin tone.
Newest generation laser.
The laser is made with the use of ELOS™ (Electro-Optical Synergy) technology that optimizes the effectiveness and safety of the treatment, through simultaneous use of high frequency (RF) light and electrical energy. Both types of energy complement each other, which leads to optimization of treatment parameters and minimization of the possible side effects.
The mechanism of contact skin cooling built-in the head, increases the safety through cooling of the epidermis before, during and after the energy impulse is supplied.
The laser efficiently and non-invasively removes all hair colors, from all skin types, including from tanned skin. The number of treatments depends on hair color and skin type, and on the area subject to the treatment. It is usually required to undergo 4-6 treatments. The laser has CE and FDA certificates.
What does the ELOS technology involve?
During the treatment the therapeutic head cools the skin at the same time protecting the epidermis against overheating. Then the impulse of light selectively heats the hair stem that contain melanin, and the stem returns the heat to the hair follicle. When flowing through the skin, the current uses the difference in tissue resistance and by flowing around the stem it directly heats the hair follicle.
Advantages of the ELOS™ technology
- Precise control and regulation of the supplied amount of electrical energy,
- Even distribution of temperature around the stem and hair follicle with a minimal impact onto the proper skin and epidermis,
- The treatment is 20% - 30% deeper (without damaging the skin) when compared with traditional diode lasers,
- Full control of skin temperature during the treatment thanks to the Active Control System – increasing the efficiency and therapy with simultaneous minimization of side effects.
IPL Vascu Light Elite from the US company LUMENIS (operating since 1966)- a world-class leader in production of lasers, which are widely applicable both in medicine and cosmetology.
IPL namely the Intense Pulse Light differs from other lasers, as it sends a dispersed beam of light of a broad spectrum of wavelengths not like in the case of a laser with one, variable wavelength, which is punctual and does not disperse the light. Thanks to that it is possible to adjust the proper wavelength adapted to specific needs of the customer, using an extremely precise computer, which adapts the parameters to individual characteristics of the patient. Research has shown that in photoepilation the effectiveness of IPL is far greater than in case of lasers.
Vascu Light Elite have both CE and FDA certificates.
This new device enables removal of hair, which grow on different depths. 30 – 60% of hair is being removed on average during every procedure. It is done in a surprisingly simple, entirely pain free and safe manner, without any side effects.
A latest generation and most powerful laser device one available on the market that selectively affects the capillary vessels of the matrix of hair growth in the anagen phase. Thanks to this property, the treatment is very gentle to the skin and extremely effective in destructing the hair roots.
The Cutera Nd-Yag laser is effective for every type of hair pigmentation and every skin color. The laser stream with a 1064 nm wavelength practically does not come into reaction with skin’s melanin (it is absorbed by keratin, lipoprotein and capillary vessels nourishing the hair matrix). The light penetrates the hair’s embryonic cells and precisely neutralizes them. It is enough to undergo just several procedures in order to permanently remove hair from the body part subject to the procedure.
The laser has both CE and FDA certificates.
Epilradical Laser – which also lets out a laser beam with a 1064 nm wavelength and thanks to reduced absorption in melanin, it allows for removal of hair from all skin types (up to type VI) and of every hair color.
The mechanisms underlying the light’s effect on the hair
The Photoepilation Process
The photoepilation process consists in absorption of proper amount of light by melanin contained in the hair stem and distribution of the heat obtained in such way into adjacent tissues (selective photothermolysis effect). The hear damages the hair root and matrix cells that take part in the process of creating new hair. The light works mainly on melanin (diode, alexandrite laser) and therefore only hair with sufficient content thereof are subject thereto (only hair in the anagen phase).
The ND-Yag laser beam with wavelength of 1064 nm practically does not come into effect with skin’s melanin (it is absorbed by keratin, lipoprotein and capillary vessels nourishing the hair matrix). The light penetrates the hair’s embryonic cells and precisely neutralizes them. It is enough to undergo just several procedures in order to permanently remove hair from the body part subject to the procedure.
Not all hair grow at the same time. Each hair goes through three phases of growth:
- Active growth – anagen.
The hair stem is created in the active growth phase. The time when the hair remains in the anagen phase depends on its location. For skin on the head it takes 2-3 years, on armpits – approximately 3 months. - Catagen phase (involution).
The catagen stage takes several days and is a transition phase ending in the repose phase (telogen). - Repose (resting) phase – telogen.
This phase takes from several months (in the area of facial skin) up to a dozen or so months on the thighs.
In order for the treatment to be successful, it is necessary for the hair stem to be inside the follicle. In the case when different epilation methods have been applied, that is methods that remove the stem from the follicle (wax, chemical epilation), it is advised to wait a minimum of 4 weeks after last application, in order for the next hair to grow back.
We invite you for a free consult and a laser test, which aims at testing the thermal reaction of the skin and checking whether the patient is allergic to the laser or IPL light and selecting proper parameters of the treatment.
If the skin reaction after the test is positive, the first treatment may follow after 15-30 minutes. However if there are any alarming reactions, we shall perform yet another test after couple of days.
How to eliminate possible side effect of laser hair removal?
Side effects, which can occur during laser or IPL depilation could include overheating of the skin or pain. In order to avoid these sensations, we suggest the following:
- Proper cooling of the skin, i.e. a cooling gel, cold pack, water system, cooled device tips used in the treatment, cryocooler or a topical anesthetic – EMLA cream),
- Technology combining RF current energy with optical energy, the so-called ELOS.
All laser types used for photoepilation have the same objective. The treatment is effective if we manage to damage hair follicles that are currently in the growth stage (anagen). Depending on thickness and color of hair and the type of laser used, there should be “bold” areas appearing on the skin within 2 days – 4 weeks following the treatment. This whole time the hair should come out from the follicles. Dark and thick hair usually come out faster.
Every treatment eliminates just a certain percentage of hair (30-60%) that are in the skin. The amount of hair, which are in the growth phase at a given moment differs for individual areas. Therefore the number of treatments will also vary for different areas. Darker and thicker hair require fewer treatments (3-4) than light and thin hair (minimum 4). After a series of treatments a small percentage of hair, which are thin and delicate, may remain.
It is very important to properly select the laser of IPL type to the hair and skin tone and to perform treatments on the same areas with different devices, in order to minimize the total number of treatments.
- The first three treatments on the face and neck should be performed every 4-6 weeks
- The first three treatments on the remaining areas of the body should be performed every 6-8 weeks
- Following treatments are performed, after the next hair growth, usually every 2-3 months.
- Vitamin A and its derivatives
- Steroids
- Epilepsy
- Psychotropic drugs
- Anti-depressants
- Pregnancy,
- Fresh tan (bronzer, solarium)
- Roaccutan administered in course of the past 6 months
- Light sensitizing drugs, retinoid, antibiotics from tetracycline group
- herbs (hypericum, marigold),
- atypical or undiagnosed pigmentation disorders,
- atypical papillae or tumors,
- skin conditions (i.e. psoriasis, eczema, infections),
- recent chemical or mechanical peel on the treated area (in the last 2 weeks),
- laser dermabrasion performed in the last 3 months,
- diseases affecting the skin structure,
- Insulin Dependent Diabetes.
- Inserted hear stimulator or defibrillator – in case of devices equipped with RF electricity.
- One day before, the area which shall be treated should be shaved,
- However if it is necessary to evaluate the hair (thickness, color), the hair will be shaved directly before the treatment,
- 1-2 days prior to the treatment, no drugs should be applied onto the skin and the skin should not be irritated by any other agents,
- The skin should be clean, without any preparations applied, no make-up, deodorant, perfume or creams,
- Hair plucking should be avoided, namely no waxing, tweezers, hair removers. It is allowed to use depilating cream and shave.
- Tannin is not advised for two weeks after the treatment,
- Apply protective cream onto the area, which was treated (SPF 30-100),
- For few days after the treatment, the treated area should not be irritated chemically or mechanically,
- Avoid direct and indirect heating of the treated area,
- Between the treatments, hair can be shaved or cut, however not plucked or waxed.
After the treatment the skin may be empurpled, there can be follicle rash. These reactions disappear after several days. In case of extreme sensitivity these reactions may stay for several weeks.
In order to eliminate all doubts and possible contraindications, the depilation is preceded by a free consult.
