Laser peel
In caring for our patients and high quality of rendered services, we are among very few in Poland to have the state-of-the-art MedLite C6 laser that became a hit in the United States and in many European Union countries. Thanks to the use of advanced technology, this device is able to perform an effective laser peel or laser revitalization without any major damage to the epidermis and with very low perceptibility of the treatment. The laser peel treatment is performed by a physician upon a prior consultation with the patient.
For whom is the laser peel treatment using MedLite C6 intended?
Laser peel is recommended mainly to those who experience problems with discolorations and expanded outlets of sebaceous glands. The treatment is performed on patients who incurred discolorations as a result of among others pregnancy or breastfeeding, hormonal imbalances, hormonal contraception, treatment with medications enhancing sensitivity of skin to UV radiation or aggressive exposure of the skin to UV radiation (sun, sun bed). Laser exfoliation of the epidermis, is perfect in the case of problems with expanded outlets of sebaceous glands in patients after acne therapy. Laser peel is also recommended to patients who temporarily or permanently exposed their skin to: UV radiation, cigarette smoke, chronic stress or drug therapy with the use of preparations that have adverse effect on the skin.
What does the laser peel treatment involve?
The treatment involves a 532 nm long laser beam. The procedure performed on the face takes approximately 15-30 minutes. Similar amount of time is required in the case of the décolleté area. In course of the treatment, the patient feels a slight discomfort, which if needed can be appeased by the physician with anesthesia. For approximately two days after the treatment, the skin may be red, slightly swollen and the discolorations may be darker. Then the epidermis peels off discretely. Since that moment we can observe gradual disappearance of the discolorations. The way the skin looks after the treatment stands in no way of the patient returning to work, and the skin does not require any complicated care. After the treatment the patient should protect the treated area against UV radiation, using a high UV filter creams.
What is the recommended number of treatments after the laser peel and when will the first effects be visible?
In order to achieve a satisfactory effect, the treatment should be repeated 2-3 times in 2-4 week intervals. Effects of the laser peel are visible already after the first treatment, once the epidermis regenerates. Then the effects become even more apparent over the course of several weeks.
Are the effects of the laser peel durable?
The effects of the treatment are durable, however in the case of patients with tendency to incur discolorations or having expanded outlets of sebaceous glands, repeated treatments should be taken into account.
What are the contraindications of the laser peel treatment?
- A period shorter than 2 weeks since application of Botox,
- Exposure to excessive UV radiation within 3 weeks prior to the treatment,
- Retinoid therapy (laser treatment is possible after 6 months since the termination of the retinoid treatment ),
- Some drug therapies,
